Theological Ruminations
on Romance, Sexuality, and Marriage

The writings here represent various Christian perspectives, many of which disagree with one another. We of Jesus People USA side with the protestant view of sexuality rather than the medieval Catholic view, the latter best reflected in some of the writings of St. Augustine. To us, Augustine's ruminations on sexuality and women are neither biblical nor realistic, but reflect an anti-feminine bias which was taken to even further extremes by others. Even more moderate Catholic voices often saw sexuality as existing only for procreation. We provide these citations for researchers, thinkers, and the curious, and will add to them as time and energy permit.
