Who is behind HighRomance.com?
A few members of Jesus People USA Covenant Church have long wanted to see
a web site celebrating the Christian
vision
of sexuality and romance. We finally
decided
to do something about it, building
a place
where believers in the High Romance
can discuss,
ponder, or just lurk around reading
what
ourselves and others contribute.
A few notes:
- We are under construction; therefore, if
things seem a bit unfinished, it is because
they ARE unfinished. Additionally, updates
to these pages may seem a bit sporadic; check
back once in a while, and nag us if things
seem to be stagnating, please!
- Some content on this web site may be deemed
a bit 'mature' or even offensive, despite
the fact that our goal is to edify and build
up, not merely to titillate. We will listen
to your input, but be aware our main goal
is to carefully but forthrightly celebrate
what God has created when he made humankind
“man and woman,” that is, sexual beings.
Our blueprint or guideline in this regard
is the Bible's "Song of Songs"
(also known as Canticles or The Song of Solomon,
despite the fact that Solomon nowhere is
credited as the author). We'll try to be
sensitive to all, and expect those who insist
on finding sex itself pornographic will find
us rather, er, boring.
- We are open to contributions (not necessarily
money, though sure, that would help) of the
creative and thoughtful kind. If you know
of a writer, artist, or theologian who has
movingly written about the sexual bond between
man and woman, let us know.
